Analise photographed and took video footage at the birth of my fourth baby. I had not engaged a birth photographer for any of my previous children’s births and if I’m honest, I was a little unsure how I felt about having a birth photographer present, wary that I might feel too self conscious. However, Analise helped ease anxiety throughout the whole process, and the pictures and footage she took are probably some of my most favourite, and most treasured items I now own.

To have such a transformative process captured, being on the cusp and edge of journeying from one identity to another, is beyond priceless to me.

I can’t speak highly enough of the professional, yet personalised way Analise worked. From pre birth meetings, (ensuring she knew what I wanted, debriefing my previous births, knowing my vulnerabilities and desires); to coming to my home to view the potential birth space. she was thorough and thoughtful. And then at the birth Analise held such a beautiful balance between being in the background (I barely knew she was there most of the time), to also holding a reassuring and calm presence.  She was respectfully delicate, conscious of my space and the midwives at work, so professional; and yet also warm, nurturing and supportively holding in her energy. What an asset to have in a birth space.

Analise, I am so glad that I asked you to help honour this chapter of my life and am beyond grateful for what you captured on that magical night.
